Visitors are welcome at our monthly meetings and there is no obligation to join, although there other opportunities should you decide to take the plunge. In recent years, we have established a walking group, a book club, regular coffee mornings and lunches. We also organise other activities throughout the year, including outings and theatre trips.

The Institute belongs to the Danebury Group within the Hampshire Federation and this consists of seven other local institutes and has two meetings a year, the venues operating on a rota around the villages of the member institutes. Hampshire Federation also has two meetings a year in the spring and autumn. These are usually held in either Basingstoke or Portsmouth and attract well-known national figures as speakers.

Our Institute usually takes part in various competitions organised by the Federation including skittles, a quiz, scrabble etc., and if you do have a flair for craft, there are always opportunities to put this to good use. Then of course if you are technologically minded these skills can be utilised as well. However, it is not a necessity to have any of these talents to join the WI.

The membership fee for 2011 is £30.00 and includes the magazine, W.I. Life, which is sent direct to each member. However, if you wish to come along to a meeting as a visitor, then we welcome a voluntary donation of £2 which is then passed on to the local hospice.

Please don't be shy come and try us, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
